What to see on the island of Houat

A small island lost in the Atlantic Ocean between Quiberon and Belle-Île-en-Mer, Houat Island is a small town of 275 inhabitants, known for its fauna and flora and its complete absence of cars.

The island lives to the rhythm of fishing, which remains its main economic activity, and the genesis of this practice can be discovered at the Eclosarium, a museum retracing the history of the island of Houat in the Morbihan, as well as its inhabitants, its culture of phytoplankton, its fishing and many other surprises. Local handicrafts and beauty products created from the surrounding flora are available for sale at the end of your visit.
